Hair Transplant – Restore Your Hair, Regain Your Confidence

Hair transplant is a highly effective and permanent solution for individuals experiencing hair loss. While the roots of hair transplantation date back to the 1800s, modern techniques were developed after the 1930s and became clinically accepted in the 1950s thanks to the work of dermatologist Dr. Norman Orentreich. One of the first widely used techniques was FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation), which involved removing a strip of scalp from the donor area.

Today, hair transplantation has evolved into a safe, natural-looking, and minimally invasive procedure.

Who can benefit from a hair transplant?

Although most commonly preferred by men due to genetic hair loss, women can also undergo hair transplant procedures to treat thinning or patchy hair. The treatment can also be used for patients who have lost hair due to trauma, surgery, or burns—providing both aesthetic and medical benefits.

Why does hair loss occur?

The most common reason is genetics, but it may also result from hormonal changes, aging, stress, medical conditions, or physical trauma. Regardless of the cause, if there is sufficient donor hair, the procedure can be performed successfully. Hair can be transplanted not only to the scalp, but also to areas like the beard, mustache, eyebrows, or even scarred tissue.

How is the procedure done?

The basic principle is to extract healthy hair follicles (called grafts) from the donor area and implant them where hair is needed.

The donor area is usually the back of the head, between the ears. If this area lacks density, beard or chest hair can also be used. Although arm or leg hair can be used in rare cases, they are thinner and less ideal.

Hair transplant methods

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction): The most modern and commonly used method today. Hair follicles are extracted one by one using micromotor or manual punch tools. It leaves no visible scarring and offers quick recovery with natural results.

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation): An older technique where a strip of scalp is removed. It leaves a linear scar and is now rarely used.

New implantation techniques: Techniques like DHI and Sapphire FUE are advanced versions of FUE. The difference lies in the tools and angles used during implantation. These methods aim for denser and more natural-looking results.

Conclusion

Hair transplant procedures today offer a long-term, natural, and personalized solution to hair loss. With the help of experienced medical teams and modern technologies, it is possible to restore not only your hair—but also your confidence.
